In honor of Gilbert Arenas … and his (my) beautiful shoes

Writing about Gilbert Arenas on a blog is becoming redundant - actually, correction, it is redundant - but today is a special occasion in the life of one young PostmanE.

His new favorite shoes, the ones he wanted for Christmas but didn’t get, the ones he’s (not really) saved for … well, they were finally purchased a couple of days ago. Observe the beauty:

For some reason, these shoes have combined with Gilbert’s impossible-to-dislike personality to win a special place in my heart. I usually don’t buy basketball shoes that are “The [insert player’s name here]’s” unless that insertion is “Jordan,” but these were impossible to resist. So there you have it, shoe junkies.

Seriously, though, this post has a point: to direct you to Gilbert’s tremendous swag yesterday after yet another game-winning shot. MJD over at The Fanhouse has the video and, well, it pretty much says it all. Yesterday’s NBA action was tremendous all-around, including last night’s holy crap clinic by the Suns, but nothing compared to Gilbert’s continued excellence. He keeps this up, and pretty soon he’ll be outgrowing his blog-pet status - if he hasn’t already.
