It’s on, like a marathon

Today is Patriots Day in good ol’ Boston, MA and amidst an early Red Sox game and a bunch of people dressed up like – well – Patriots, there is the Boston Marathon.

Runners really are a different breed, as you can see from this Japanese man crossing the start line at the beginning of the race. What other sport is going to let you strap a samurai sword to your side and compete? Well okay, probably a lot of those karate-jujitsu-taw-kwon-do-ish-type sports, but you get the point.

If this guy makes it through all the down hills in the early miles of the marathon course with all his garb intact, I give him mad props.
