Pedro Martinez is like, totally excited about his return, dude

We haven’t forgotten about our buddy Pedro Martinez have we? You know, he rocks the jerry jheri curls, sports a career WHIP of 1.026 (third-best ever) and is the possessor of 206 wins. Oh, he also had that little buddy pictured with him there. That guy was great. Well Pedro has finally emerged, ready to tell us just how rehab has been going.

And well, he is like, totally psyched, brah.

“I am super excited with how things are progressing. I feel as good as I did in 1996 and 1997,” the 35-year-old ace told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

“I haven’t felt any pain during rehabilitation and I think that in a month I’ll be throwing from the mound and then do a short rehabilitation in the minors,” he said.

Pedro also mentioned he’s confident he’ll return to the Mets the second half of the season. It’s not so much that I’m anxious to see him out on the mound again, it’s that the baseball world feels a little less complete without him out there doing his thing, doesn’t it?

Hurry back, Pedro.
