Before I leave you on the day, I felt a YouTube video was in order.

Here’s a clip of someone beating Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! for NES in 17:52. Very impressive, indeed.

Now, I’ve heard rumblings that these expert gamers who beat old NES games in insanely fast times (Mario Bros. etc.) manipulate the game code/ROMS and use cheats to make it easier for themselves, but we’re going to pretend that doesn’t even fall into the equation for this one.

No matter what, this game used to agitate us to no end and facing Iron Mike at the end was near impossible. So, actually seeing this feat still amazes the heck out of us.

Still crazy after all these years

As noted on numerous sites around the Internet today, Mike Tyson reportedly loves the boy band Westlife so much that he wants to record a song with them/join the band. This is Westlife, folks.

Tyson has been in touch with their manager Louis Walsh to make it happen. Tyson admits he is “no Pavarotti” but is happy to have his voice digitally enhanced if it means he can record with the Flying Without Wings stars.

We could make some off-handed sarcastic remark about Iron Mike right now, but we’re just going to let this one sit in your brain for awhile so you can comprehend it. We think it’s better that way.
