Nani’s head hurts, but not for the reason you think

Hey, OK, so that doesn’t look, how shall we say … real. Nani’s faking. Fine. But who are we to judge his pain? At 3 a.m. on Friday night — after numerous Everclear-laced margaritas, pints of Guinness, and Jameson rips — I tried to stumble to a friend’s house, only to make it within a block, fall down, and then decide that I couldn’t make it. I grabbed a cab and went home. I was mercilessly insulted by my friends.

I share Nani’s pain, OK? It is entirely emotional.

Anyway, his team won their 10th Premier League title with a 2-0 win over Wigan, so maybe that embarrassment is slightly less potent. Probably not, though.

Russia not requiring British visas for Champions League final. What could possibly go wrong?

I applaud Russia for scrambling to get Manchester United and Chelsea fans in to the country in time for Wednesday’s Champions League final, which will be airing right in the middle of the workday here and which will cause me to turn off my internet for the last three hours at work so DVR can do its dirty work. Anyway, it’s good to get all the fans in the stadium. It wilI help with atmosphere, show the world what the CL final is really all about, and besides, I can’t possibly see anything questionable about letting 80,000 unaccounted-for British gents — rival Man United and Chelski fans, no less — let loose on the streets of Moscow. Really, what could go wrong?

Oh. Right.

Lionel Messi is good for his age

That video is Lionel Messi scoring an absolutely ridiculous goal a couple weeks back. In case you’re one of so many twentysomethings who read blogs, let me make your day a little bit worse: Lionel Messi just turned 20. What are you doing with your day?

Just kidding. I promise I didn’t post this to make you feel worse about yourself (besides, I’d have to feel bad too), but rather because, for some reason, I never posted that video, and rarely has there been a more postworthy vid. Also, since we’re a couple minutes into Manchester United and AC Milan’s Champions League semifinal second leg, we need something soccer here.

See? Nothing to do with you. You’re special too, in your own little unmemorable way.
