Dontrelle Willis also enjoys making it rain
I think making it rain is swell. It supports single mothers, is the perfect non-dance to complement a great club song, and mostly, it just looks really, really sweet. I think I might get three or four $1 bills and make it rain on my keyboard right now. It’s so fun! Look at the bills fly! Weeee!
We all know Pacman Jones agrees with me. And thanks to our boy Matt at the MLB FanHouse, we now we know that Dontrelle Willis does too:
For at least two nights a week in March, bar staff tells Page Two, star pitcher Dontrelle Willis, described as the ringleader, second baseman Dan Uggla and others were known to swing by the Riviera Beach joint and shower the gals with dollar bills until 3 a.m.
“There’d be, like, $3,000 in singles on the table,” said waitress Nicole Spelling. “When they liked someone, a bunch of them would just go up and throw dollar bills in the air by the handful. There’d be so much money on the stage that the girls had to get champagne buckets to pick it up. And (pitcher) Randy Messenger is, like, so hot.”
As Matt points out, Randy Messenger is not, by any standard definition of the word, “hot.” Just a heads up for the ladies (and men) who might have been confused.
I don’t know what it is. Throwing $3,000 away like that is completely stupid and, considering the persistent poverty issues in this country and others, sort of disgusting … but I love it. I’m not really sure why I love making it rain, but boy I do. More rain, please.
