It’s a slow sports day…
…And since we can’t find anything too blog-worthy at the moment, here’s a compilation of what some other sports bloggers are talking about.
The Mighty MJD does not like Joe Buck.
The Realests are backing up the Bears for not drafting any worthy offensive talent.
Hawk says the White Sox have rhythm.
Free Darko thinks this is a problem.
Matt Leinart and Paris Hilton? That’s hot.
Bear down, Chicago….who?!?

We’re fans of the draft and all, though we can’t exactly say we spent our entire weekend scanning mock drafts and staring at Mel Kiper’s hair - not that he doesn’t deserve it.
We do, however, have an overriding interest in the progress of our Chicago Bears, a team that has largely drafted well in recent history. Since 2000, the Bears picked 9 of our 11 current defensive starters. That’s quality. (Yes, we remember Cade McNown. Anthony Thomas, too. Yeah, David Terrell was in there. We’re looking past those idiots.)
Really though, we’re going to have to trust Jerry Angelo on this one. The Bears drafted a squad of dudes we have never heard of. The top pick? Danieal Manning, a cornerback from Abilene Christian. Oh, you haven’t heard of it? Quite the party school, that ACU. It’s easily a bigger party school than Miami, from whence the Bears drafted return specialist Devin Hester. We would imagine he’s pretty fast. We’d hope so, anyway.
In the end, that’s the theme of this draft. We hope something decent comes out of this batch of random guys.
Just a suspicion…
Cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. signed an offer sheet with the Chicago Bears Friday and sealed the deal to join the Monsters of the Midway. Then, later that weekend, Manning was sealed inside of a prison cell after being arrested on suspicion of assault. It was outside Denny’s. At 3 a.m.
That seems to be just the luck of the Chicago Bears. Yes, the same team that used their own suspicion to draft Cade McNown with their first pick in the NFL Draft. And Rashaan Salaam. And Curtis Enis.
Welcome to Chicago, Ricky Manning Jr. I have a suspicion it’s going to be an interesting year for the Bears.
