Wade Phillips is losing his mind

wadepoints1.jpgI really couldn’t care less about Britney Spears or Tony Romo or Carrie Underwood — OK, maybe a little bit about Carrie Underwood — but I do care about Wade Phillips. Maybe it’s more like concern. See, it’s common knowledge that ol’ Wadey is the victim of severe psychological torment at the hands of his billionaire owner, and up until now, he seems to be doing OK with it. But I think we might have reached a tipping point:

Spears added a little spice to the situation during an interview Wednesday on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. When asked if she was dating Romo, Spears said, “Who?

The interview abruptly ended.

But it doesn’t end there for Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, who said he is not happy with Spears because of the title of her new album, “Blackout,” and because some of the images used in her videos were borrowed.

Phillips’ daughter, Tracy, is a dancer/choreographer in Los Angeles at a club called Blackout. According to Phillips, Spears attended one of Tracy’s shows. Coincidentally, there were some similarities with her new album.

Phillips said there was nothing they could do about it and reasoned that people sometimes borrow things like in coaching.

Not only is Phillips actively thinking about Britney Spears — to know this, hasn’t he probably listened to the album four or five times by now? — he’s slowly morphing into one of those old cat ladies who call radio stations and complain about Nickelback using their lyrics. And I don’t if it’s worse, or better, that Wade seems resigned to this fate. If you’re going to be crazy, at least have the courage of your confused convictions, right?

Luke Walton is not slaying Britney Spears

brit.jpgThank you, Luke, for finally setting the record straight.

“The rumors aren’t true,” Walton said. “I’m sure Britney is a great person. I don’t even know her. I have a girlfriend right now. I’m in a relationship. I’m very happy with my relationship. I don’t know where it’s all started, but none of it is true.”

Walton is dating Bre Ladd, a former volleyball player at the University of Arizona, who happened to be sitting five seats down from Spears at one of the games she attended.

That wasn’t mentioned when “Entertainment Tonight” ran with the story earlier this week. Walton said his girlfriend was amused at first but has grown irritated. For his part, Walton’s been hearing from friends who haven’t called in years.

“If I was living in Milwaukee, this wouldn’t have happened,” Walton said. “It’s definitely an L.A. thing.”

Wait a second here. Luke is trying to tell us that there are rumors floating around about celebrity hook-ups in L.A. that are made up? Man, I thought that stuff was 100 percent true. This is an earth-shattering revelation for me. I’m crushed.

Anyways though, who is this Bre Ladd individual Luke speaks of? Observe:

Yes, OK, the picture is quite clear on this situation now.

Sidenote: I use that picture of Britney Spears because I feel the potential is still there, people.
