Jobs returned to Apple in '97; Google was founded in '98. '96 is a good end-of-the-salad-days year for MS.

Perhaps that should have been rephrased as:

The last time Microsoft was relevant or was cooler than Mac or not spending every day in court fighting anti-trust lawsuits. It was a loose association I made there, if there ever was one.

Now go back and start tooling around on your iphone.

The last time Microsoft truly ruled the PC game was around that time, too.

Say word: I'm an Apple fanboy, but Microsoft still has something like 90 perecent of home computing being done on Windows machines. They still rule.

Oh, and if Seattle wants to keep their team, they ought to stop half-assing the stadium financing that so many other, less-monied towns are forced to fork out. I feel genuinely bad for the common fan, but Seattle's not 100 percent innocent in this.
