Tom Brady will take some time to himself
I’m betting a considerable amount of folks out there didn’t feel too bad for Tom Brady after the Patriots Super Bowl loss, namely because he had this to comfort him after the game. Plus: he’s so handsome and sexy and stylish and alltogethersoawesome, well, we were sure he’d be OK.
But, I don’t know now, kids. I mean, Tommy has backed out of the Pro Bowl. Think about it: who does this? Who takes themselves out of a meaningless game where they could become unnecessarily injured while they wear an obnoxious jersey? This does not seem like the Tom Brady we know. And get this, he’s opting of the the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, too.
From the Monterey Herald (via Fark):
A few weeks ago, the sports world could have anticipated a Super Bowl matchup between Tony Romo’s Dallas Cowboys and Tom Brady’s New England Patriots. It would have been a classic battle between the NFL’s most decorated teams led by the league’s two glamour boys known as much for their play as for their heartthrob celebrity girlfriends.
That classic matchup could have been revisited just a few days later on the Pebble Beach greens, where Brady and Romo were tentatively scheduled to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
But the Cowboys bowed out of the playoffs early, Brady’s Bunch fell short a perfect season on Sunday and neither is coming to the Monterey Peninsula to play golf after all. Nor is Bill Belichick, Brady’s head coach.
See what I’m saying? I imagine Brady holed up in Manhatten right now, slowly growing a long, crazy beard as the days meander along, all the while blasting U2’s “In the Name of Love.” They are his favorite band, after all.

I suppose “Sunday Bloody Sunday” might have been the more appropriate U2 song here.
Oh well.
Don’t sweat it, chief. Though Sunday Bloody Sunday is back from when U2 was actually good. Been a while.
Father is not ‘holed up in Manhattan right now.’ He withdrew from the Pro Bowl to give alternates a chance to shine and pad their resumes. His charity knows no bounds.
So, you two have been reduced to commenting to each other. Maybe With or Without You is now more apropos. {Been out of town or I would have had to share thoughts on Robert Montgomery.} Go Iowa.
We all knew he’d back out of the pro-bowl. The question is, why do people keep voting for players they know won’t appreciate it enough to appear?
Tom is hurt much worse than anyone knew. He is going to Costa Rica to get some well deserved R&R. He was AWESOME this year!
Costa Rica sounds great. LA is warm too. How about seeing his son?
