Bloggers write books, work for large media entities? Who knew?
As many of you out there may already be privy to, Deadspin’s Will Leitch’s book, God Save the Fan, drops today. I know it’s sometimes incredibly annoying when bloggers talk about other bloggers and their successes, but as Dan Shanoff noted yesterday, if you’ve ever gotten a link from Will or a pat on the back or even aspire to have your own book someday, you have every reason to give it a promotion — however small your pull in the sports blogosphere is. So this is us doing that now. As Borat would say, we wish Will “great success.” (For video of Will trying hard to explain his book to two people that don’t have a clue what’s going on see here.) We really never would have gotten into this whole blogging thing had it not been for E stumbling upon Deadspin back in January of ‘05. A win for Leitch is a win for the sports blogosphere as a whole.
I’m currently knee deep in Achak’s struggle to get out of a war-ridden Sudan, but I hope to sneak away from it to give Will’s book a read; perhaps me and E will do some sort of collaborative post debating the merits of Will’s overriding thesis. (And everyone will care what we have to say about it! Or not.)
Secondly, MJD has moved from FanHouse to Yahoo! Sports and is dropping NFL knowledge for now. Soon he’ll be dropping NCAA basketball knowledge, too. MJD has always been a cool dude to us and he and E even used to podcast together over at FanHouse. (Remember when?) We wish MJD the best of luck as well.
Bloggers: now with 85 percent more congratulations and OTPHJs to each other!

For as much as we use OTPHJ in real life, it is drastically underused on this site. We should definitely work on that.
I’ve read two books written by bloggers (Maddox and Roosh V), and both were very entertaining. I have no reason to doubt that Will’s book will also be great.
“What is the What” is a great book, isn’t it?
Leitch’s will be good as well.
Yeah, I enjoyed What Is the What. Especially the parts with Manute Bol.
