Weekend Fun: Laziest two weeks evar

times-square.jpgContrary to popular belief, we don’t exactly set a high bar when it comes to work ethic around these parts. Still, even using our normally low output as a standard, the week or so has been pretty horrendous both in quantity and quality, which I will go ahead and blame on Christmas, late Christmas (being celebrated this evening with the ladyfriend), Christmas hangover, and now New Year’s. Sadly, the forecast calls for more of the same. Activities are afoot, plans are in motion — R is going to New York*, and I am going to get drunk — which require us to be away from this site for the next, oh, four days. We know. We’re lazy.

In the meantime, potential points of interest:

– Many thanks to the Blog Show brotherhood for including us in so many of their broadcasts this season. Their description:

7. (tie) We Are the Postmen (10): Gives great YouTube.

Works just as well if you sub “domepieces” for YouTube. Trust us.

– Secondly, get over to FanHouse and read my year-end blogosphere retrospective. Bloggers are getting paid now! Come hear the news! And now, a teaser:

Fortunately for you, this is 2007. And in 2007, sports blogs and their readers evolved. They got more discerning, leaner, meaner. Those thousands of posts you read are no longer random personal sports diaries; they’re the work of writers merging with a rapidly professionalizing new medium.

If THAT doesn’t get you going, I don’t know what will.

Finally, a Happy New Year’s to all of you. Leave your plans and resolutions in the comments (don’t even try to lose the weight, fatty; it ain’t happenin’), and we’ll see you January 2nd.

* We hear there are bloggers in New York. If you would like to offer R alcohol or Guitar Hero, you can bet he’d accept.

I vow to never read The Big Lead again for 2008. Should be an easy resolution to make good on.

We’re hoping to be even bigger inconsiderate pricks in the coming year. Fingers crossed.
