Bob Knight: Public relations practicioner extraordinaire
So Bob Knight may or may not have intentionally shot a couple of dudes in the face. Hey, these things happen! Without generalizing between Knight and 2007’s other notable birdshot incident, that of vice president Dick Cheney, I think that we can all agree that people with guns and surly attitudes are probably better off not going hunting in groups. No way the NRA whiffs on that one, but it’s just a thought.
Shooting someone in the face is not good for the old public persona, but if there’s anyone that can fight through scandal, why, it’s Bob Knight. Observe:
“That’s all been taken care of, that’s over with,” Knight said. “You haven’t heard anything from that guy for two weeks. That’s done. I got no comment on that whatsoever because that’s absolute (expletive).”
Well then, nevermind! I’m not exactly sure why the White House doesn’t employ this strategy more often. Next time Helen Thomas is feeling a little frisky, waxing reminiscent about shacking up with Kennedy in Camelot’s finest hour, Tony Snow need only respond with: “Helen, the administration isn’t going to comment on that right now. Why? I’ll tell you why: Because it’s bullshit.” See? National crisis averted.

Am I the only one who finds the phrase “That’s been taken care of” to be a bit ominous in this context?
You know I love you guys, but Tony Snow is not the Press Secretary.
Dana Perino wasn’t as funny.
Touche.
Extra P.: Yeah, and “You haven’t heard anything from that guy in two weeks.” I’m almost positive Bob Knight is saying he murdered that guy.
