Weekend Fun: No room to talk

Usually with the Cubs teetering around the .500 mark this late in the season, it’s been a fair assumption that even if the White Sox weren’t quite in the playoff hunt, they’d at least be better than the North Siders. This is not the case. In fact, save for the Devil Rays, you can’t really argue much for the White Sox against any team this year. It’s been horrid; it’s been wretched; it’s been downright embarrassing to be a Sox fan these last few months.

The bullpen has been terrible, the starting pitching that was once a strong point is failing miserably and it also doesn’t help that they are consistently starting three rookies. I don’t know how Ozzie Guillen took this long to explode. Really, for him, that’s pretty impressive.

College Football:

There’s a whole slate of games this weekend. For the most part they’ll all be blowouts. Enjoy them, though.

First Annual Freedarko World Columbian Exposition:

E and I had the distinct pleasure of attending the little Free Darko get together last night and it was rather grand. We spent a majority of the time talking to Shoals about our AOL duties and then the night dissolved into watching the US-Argentina game. (What is up with Argentina’s jerseys? Seriously.)

But yup, good time had by all. It’s always nice to see the man behind the keyboard, and equally nice to have conversation outside the tubes.

We still never changed servers. The way this site has been running the last two days, I should probably do that, huh?
