The Big Ten defies logic
I don’t know who the dude is that named the Big Ten, but wherever he is, he’s probably really second guessing himself right now.
The creation of the Big Ten Network means conference officials likely will discuss expansion again, Commissioner Jim Delany said Wednesday.
“I think we need to look at it in the next year,” he said during a wide-ranging interview with Register reporters.
Adding a 12th team likely will be revisited because of the network, which is scheduled to launch Aug. 30, Delany said. An additional big-name university in a large television market means more exposure for the network and its sponsors.
“It changes to some extent how you think about it,” Delany said of expansion. “The broader (the network) is distributed, the more value (expansion) has.
“We have eight states. With expansion, you could have nine.”
So, because of a TV station, the Big 10 might move to 12 teams. Which, should work out just fine. I guess they’ll just change its name to the Big 12. Except for there already is a Big 12. See how this doesn’t make any sense? The real loser in all this? The person that figured out how to get an “11″ inside the Big Ten logo. Good luck getting a 12 in there, buddy.

Who would they add, though? There are no MAC schools near the caliber of B10. The Big East gobbled up all the qualifying Big East schools. Who do you think, R?
Notre Dame, for sure.
Notre Dame has no reason to join the Big Ten. They’ve already got NBC paying them, they don’t need help from a network.
As far as the name of the conference, let’s just call it the Bigger 12. You can squeeze a 2 in there somewhere.
And, currently, Notre Dame is doing all they can to solidify themselves as an independent. By playing a home game out of South Bend every year and adding a B12 school to its schedule, ND is trying to “return to its independent roots.” The B10 had a chance to add them in all sports ‘cept football, but they balked and the Big East took the bait.
I think it will be Notre Dame, and all the buildings named after the Debartolo family will be renamed We Are The Postmen Hall. Seems likely enough.
Notre Dame was a joke by the way. I just wanted to see your head explode when ND played IU in a conference game.
i want to see your heads explode when i punch them. that is a threat.
