And you thought Rasheed Wallace was bad

I’ve always marveled at just how heated pick-up basketball games can become. After all, there are no standings, no league championships or titles to play for you. It’s just you and some dudes you may or may not even know playing against some other dudes you may or may not know.

Now, I guess there are such things as pride and the spirit of competition. And when that 5-foot-nothing kid drains another two-pointer (or three, depending on where you’re from) and that tall guy who clearly isn’t very skilled but somehow is dominating you starts running his mouth, well, by that point you just want to win. I’ve been there before. We’ve all been there before.

But where I’m sure most haven’t been before, is where rapper The Game took it.

Rapper The Game has been charged with making a criminal threat and with possession of a firearm in a school zone during a Feb. 24 pickup basketball game, according to the L.A. District Attorney’s office.

The rapper, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, allegedly got into an altercation with a player on an opposing team during a basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in South Los Angeles. After allegedly punching the victim, cops say The Game pulled a gun from his red Escalade and threatened to pop the victim.

I’m so awful at basketball I’d imagine even if I was on the same team as The Game, he’d probably pull a gun on me. Which, you know, is probably saying a lot about my basketball talent level.
