Weekend Fun: Taking a longer, slower step away from the keyboard
Not gonna lie here - we’re way late making this post. It’s 6:18 on a Friday, which means nobody is reading (as opposed to, oh, 11 on a Monday, when like 10 people are). So I’m going to keep this short, sweet and lazy, kind of how agents describe Marco Killingsworth.
Deadspin tipped me to this, but it’s absolutely worth reading. Tillman stories seem a dime a dozen, but major man-hugs to Gary Smith for tackling this thing, executing it perfectly. Also, love to SI for eschewing a cliched 9/11 “A Look Back” story this week.
It would be criminal to let this post crawl by without a mention of the NFL - here’s your mention: The NFL is back, boy. How happy are you? I’m so happy I’ve been crying like Sebastian Telfair at the end of Through the Fire for the last three days. Go Bears Go Bears Go Bears.
Oh, and if this wasn’t already obvious enough; college football, too. On a regular weekend, my focus might be more intently gazed at the NFL, but this weekend, with Texas-Ohio State and Notre Dame-Penn St., I’ll be watching.
With that, I leave you to your devices, and you leave me to mine. Seeing as it’s my roommate’s 22nd birthday, I’ll let you guess exactly what devices those are. While you do that, I’m gonna jet. Dr. R will see you Monday.
