I cannot even fathom him

twoods.jpgTiger Woods is God.

Seriously, at this point, would you even doubt it?

MJD has already said it far better than I, but I caught the end of the Deutchebank Championship yesterday, and man, Tiger will not be stopped. He iced the match with two eagles and then just held off Vijay like a father holding his son by the forehead while his son swings his arms wildly.

And Vijay was pissed. Several commentators noticed it during the broadcast - Vijay refused to acknowledge Tiger on the course, let alone speak to him as they finished their rounds together.

The best part was after 18, when Vijay was interviewed adjacent to the Woods celebration. He was chugging along, giving his pocket answers (”I just wanted to play solid golf”) and then the crowd roared for Tiger in the middle of one of his answers. Vijay looks over, visibly chokes back, jerks his head, and recomposes himself. It was a rare moment of weakness, but it showcased a little of what every golfer on tour must feel right about now:

“I’m in the 99.99th percentile of golfers in the world. I’m the best of the best. And I can not compete with this guy. What the f*#&#^!!!!”

Tiger vs. Roger - Golf and tennis have 4 majors every year. Tiger won his first major in 1997. From 1997-2007 Tiger has won 13 out of 44 majors a wining percentage of 29.54% and Tige is age 31. Roger won his first major in 2003. From 2003-2007 Roger has won 12 out of 20 majors a wining percentage of 60% and Roger is age 26. Look at these stats who would you bet on to win more majors in 2008? Next, in 2008 Roger could become THE ALL TIME GRAND SLAM CHAMPION. TIGER CAN’T he needs 6 more to pass Jack N. record of 18. It’s no wonder why Tiger Woods and Pete Sampras called ROGER FEDERER THE MOST DOMINANT ATHLETE ON THE PLANET.
